Why I can’t import iTunes music or video to Windows Movie Maker (WMM)?
Many people like to use Windows Movie Maker (WMM), a free and simple-to-use video editing program, to make home videos, slideshows and business presentations. And the movies, TV episodes and music from iTunes store are usually the main source files for WMM. But some people complain that they can’t put iTunes video or music to Windows Movie Maker for editing. Why is this? How to fix this problem?
This is usually because the formats of the iTunes files you want to import are incompatible with Windows Movie Maker. This video editing software supports .wmv/.avi/.mpeg video format and .mp3/.wma/.wav audio format. So if your iTunes files are in AAC (.m4p/.m4a/.m4b), .MOV or .M4V format, Windows Movie Maker won’t recognize them. In addition, some of the media files from iTunes are probably encrypted by DRM which stop people from distributing iTunes songs/videos to non-Apple devices or programs like Windows Movie Maker.
If you are in this case, here I will tell you a easy solution called iSkysoft DRM removal to solve this problem. With this program, you can easily remove DRM from iTunes, and convert .M4P/.M4V/.MOV files to WMM-firendly format preserving the original video and audio quality. Brief guide to convert iTunes files (movies, TV episodes and music) to Windows Movie Maker:
Step 1 Click "Add" to load iTunes files to this program, and a DRM Finder can help you automatically detect both un-converted DRM files and converted DRM files.

Step 2 Set output format.
For audio files, click "Audio files to" drop-down box to open the output profile, and select MP3 as output format. For video files, click “Video files to” drop-down box to open the output profile and select WMV as output format.
Furthermore, if you set MP3 as output format for video files, iSkysoft DRM removal will extract background music from the videos and save as MP3s for output. This is a useful feature when you want to rip soundtracks from a iTunes video to Windows Movie Maker.
Step 3 Define where to store your output files and then hit “Convert” button to convert iTunes music or video to Windows Movie Maker file type.
Step 4 Transfer the new iTunes files to Windows Movie Maker.
When the conversion is finished, you will find the new iTunes video or audio files which Windows Movie Maker accepts in the destination folder. Next, run Windows Movie Maker, in the "Movie Task" bar, click "Import video" or “Import audio or music” to browse your computer and located the converted files, and then you can start to make personal movies.
